The short video introduces the Source-to-Sea Zero Pollution 2030 (SOS-ZEROPOL2030) project, outlining why pollution remains a critical challenge for European seas and how the project contributes to addressing it through integrated science, stakeholder engagement, and policy-relevant solutions.
Making complex science accessible
The project video translates complex research topics — including chemical pollution, plastics and microplastics, nutrients, and underwater noise — into clear messages for a broad audience. It highlights:
- the project’s source-to-sea approach,
- its focus on priority pollutants and regional seas, and
- the importance of co-creation and stakeholder involvement in designing realistic zero-pollution pathways.
As part of the D6.3 communication toolkit, the video supports outreach to policy makers, practitioners, educators, students, and the wider public, helping to raise awareness of pollution challenges and the solutions being developed within the project.
A tool for outreach, education, and impact
The SOS-ZEROPOL2030 project video is intended for use across websites, social media, presentations, training activities, and events, strengthening the project’s visibility and ensuring consistent messaging across platforms.
By combining strong visuals with concise storytelling, D6.3 helps reinforce the project’s role in supporting the EU Zero Pollution Action Plan and advancing evidence-based action for healthier marine and coastal ecosystems.
The video is now publicly available in the Resources section of the SOS-ZEROPOL2030 website.
